Children's Pastor Tommy Moats is a Licensed Minister in the Church of God. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics with a minor in Bible at Lee College in Cleveland, TN. His wife Heather has a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Pittsburg State, in Pittsburg, Kansas.

Pastor Tommy was raised in Lenoir City, Tennessee, just a few miles west of Knoxville. He grew up in East Tennessee and enjoys ministering close to home. Pastor Tommy has served in ministry for many years and has served at Northshore Fellowship for 13 years. As a pre-teen, he was a teacher's helper in the 2 and 3 year olds class at his home church of Sixth Avenue Church of God in Lenoir City. His service in ministry continued as he later worked in elementary aged classes and then was a volunteer in the youth ministry while in college. Pastor Tommy served as a lay youth minister for a short time at Sixth Avenue. While volunteering in the youth ministry, he had the opportunity to get hands-on training in Children's Ministry. Many of the mission trips that the youth group took included a Kid's Crusade and Carnival at a church in another town or state. The crusades and carnival provided Pastor Tommy with many opportunities to learn how to connect with kids. He quickly learned that kids needed sight and sound along with preaching to create fertile soil for the seeds of God's Word to take root. Of all that Pastor Tommy has learned, there are three things that never change: the Master, the Message, and the Mission. With that said, there are three things that must always be able to change: the Methods, the Mindset, and the Ministry. What we teach will never change-how we teach must be changeable.

Pastor Tommy and Heather have been married for 11 years. They enjoy their family time including their trips to the mountains to hike. Pastor Tommy enjoys playing golf and photography while Heather enjoys reading, gardening, and the outdoors. Pastor Tommy and Heather have one child, Thomas, III, who is 18 months old and they are expecting their second child in October.
